Pension & Auto-Enrolment
Depending on the employees you manage through your payroll scheme, you may have to enrol for automatic enrolment. This is a government scheme that deducts a percentage of your income each pay period and is put towards your pension pot. Employers also pay a percentage of their employee’s income that is put into the same pot.
Once an employee meets the eligibility criteria for the automatic enrolment scheme (hence the name) they will be automatically enrolled. An employee does have the option to opt out of this scheme, however, there is no way to do so before they are enrolled.
